Sleep & Wellbeing

For nights that won't quiet down.

Exhausted but wired. Calm on the outside, racing underneath. Foggy in a way caffeine stopped fixing. We assess sleep, stress, mood, and cognition as the connected system they are.

Does this sound like you?

Sleep and mood symptoms rarely travel alone. If a few of these feel familiar, there is likely a treatable pattern underneath.

Pattern match 0 / 7

Three or more ticks is a pattern worth investigating, not something to push through.

The Clinical Picture

Why tired-but-wired is a biology problem.

Sleep, mood, stress, and cognition share the same underlying systems: cortisol, thyroid, and neurotransmitters. When we assess all four together, we can often find a manageable driver that individual approaches miss.

01

Cortisol dysregulation is measurable and treatable

Chronic stress, perimenopause, or poor sleep can push cortisol out of its healthy rhythm. High at night, low in the morning. That pattern may explain why some women feel wired at bedtime and flat by mid-morning. A structured assessment can identify it.

02

Your biology and sleep are deeply linked

Reproductive health directly affects sleep architecture. Perimenopausal changes are a common contributor to middle-of-the-night waking. Addressing the underlying clinical picture may support better sleep without additional medication.

03

A full workup looks at the whole picture first

For some women, what looks like anxiety or depression has a nutritional, clinical, or sleep-related driver. We assess those factors as part of every plan. If medication is the right call, we use it alongside the full clinical picture, not in place of it.

Sleep, anxiety, and brain fog are rarely three separate problems. They are usually the same system asking for the same kind of attention.

Still have questions? Get in touch, we are here to help.

Yes. Medication is one tool, not the whole plan. We start by investigating why you are not sleeping: cortisol, iron, clinical markers, sleep architecture. Then build from there. If medication is needed, we choose deliberately and supervise closely. Most women need less medication, not more, once the drivers are addressed.

Only if it is the right call after a full workup, and with your informed consent. We assess nutritional, clinical, sleep, and stress factors first. For many women, addressing those may resolve mood symptoms without medication. Where medication is appropriate, we use it as part of a plan, not instead of one.

Yes. Perimenopausal changes can directly affect mood and anxiety. Addressing the underlying clinical driver may support improvement. Your clinician will assess the full picture and discuss all available options.

We guide you through the CBT-I framework and integrate its principles into your plan. It is the gold-standard first-line approach for chronic insomnia. If you need formal weekly CBT-I sessions, we will refer you to an appropriate psychologist and coordinate care.

In specific circumstances, for short durations, and only after appropriate assessment. We do not prescribe benzodiazepines or Z-drugs for long-term use. When short-term medication is helpful, we plan the step-down before we even start.

Individual results vary. Your clinician will discuss realistic expectations and set personalised milestones at your consultation. Progress is reviewed regularly and your plan is adjusted based on how you respond.

Yes, and we encourage it. Medical and psychological care together often support better outcomes than either alone. Share your psychologist's details at your consult and we will coordinate: sending notes, sharing observations, and aligning plans.
